How to Manage Users & Roles in Your Website

The Users & Roles feature allows you to manage site visitors who sign up and control what they can access on your website. This is useful for membership sites, gated content, and user-specific features.

1. Accessing User Management

  1. Open the CMS Menu.
  2. Click on Users from the sidebar.

Note: Users here refer to visitors signing up on your site, not your internal team members or workspace collaborators.

2. Creating User Roles

Roles define what users can or cannot do on your website.

How to Add a New Role

  1. Select Roles from the user settings.
  2. Click Add New Role.
  3. Enter a Role Name (e.g., Subscriber, Member, Premium User).
  4. Click Add Role.

Editing or Deleting a Role

  • To edit a role, select it, update the name, and click Update Role.
  • To delete a role, select it and click Delete.

Roles are later used in Membership Blocks to restrict access to certain content based on user type.

3. Adding and Managing Users

How Users Sign Up

Visitors can register on your website using a Login/Registration Form. Once they sign up, their details will appear in the Users section of the CMS.

Manually Adding a User

If you want to add a user manually:

  1. Click Add New User.
  2. Enter a Username.
  3. Assign a Role by clicking + (e.g., Subscriber).
  4. Optionally, add a Phone Number.
  5. Click Add User.

Managing Existing Users

  1. Go to All Users.
  2. Click on a user to edit their details.
  3. As more users sign up, they will automatically appear in this section.

4. Using Roles with Membership Blocks

  • Membership blocks allow you to restrict access to certain sections of your site based on user roles.
  • When setting up a membership block, you can select which roles have permission to view the content.

Example:

  • Subscribers can access basic articles.
  • Premium Users can access exclusive content.

5. Why Use Users & Roles?

Control access to specific content.

Create membership levels (Free, Paid, VIP).

Allow users to register and log in to your site.

Easily manage and edit user accounts from the CMS.

By setting up Users & Roles, you can build a membership-based website with controlled content access and user-specific experiences.
