How to Use the Text Element

Text is one of the most important parts of your website, whether it’s headings, paragraphs, or lists. The Text Element allows you to format, style, and structure your content efficiently.

1. Adding Text to Your Page

  1. Open the Elements Panel from the left sidebar.
  2. Drag and drop the Text Element onto your page where you see a thick gray line.
  3. Click inside the text box to edit the placeholder text.

Shortcut for Quick Editing

  • Press Command + A (Mac) / Ctrl + A (Windows) to select all text.
  • Start typing to replace the placeholder text instantly.

2. Formatting & Styling Text

Once you've added your text, use the Toolbar to format it:

  • Align Text: Left, Center, Right.
  • Text Styles: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Uppercase.
  • Colors: Change text color or apply gradients.
  • Shadows & Masks: Add depth or artistic effects to text.

Typography Settings

  • Go to Typography to adjust:
  • Font family
  • Size
  • Line height
  • Letter spacing
  • Weight (e.g., regular, bold, extra bold)
  • Text automatically follows Global Styling rules but can be customized per element.

3. Creating Structured Text with Paragraphs & Lists

Adding Paragraphs

  • Press Enter/Return to create a new paragraph inside the same text element.
  • Each new paragraph can be styled independently.

Lists

  1. Highlight multiple paragraphs.
  2. Click the List Button in the toolbar:
  • First click → Numbered List (1, 2, 3…).
  • Second click → Bullet List (•, •, •).
  • Third click → Removes List Formatting.

4. Linking Text

You can link an entire text element or just specific words:

  1. Select the text you want to link.
  2. Click the Link Button in the toolbar.
  3. Choose one of the following link types:
  • URL – Link to an external page.
  • Block – Jump to a specific section of your page.
  • Popup – Trigger a popup window.
  • Download – Let users download a file.

5. Controlling Text Spacing with Gaps

You can fine-tune spacing between text elements without adding extra line breaks:

  1. Select the text element.
  2. Go to the Settings Toolbar.
  3. Adjust Gap Above and Gap Below in pixels.

This is useful for creating well-structured paragraphs and headlines.

6. Using HTML Tags for SEO & Accessibility

Each text element can be assigned an HTML tag to improve SEO:

  • Heading 1 (H1) – Main page title (only one per page).
  • Heading 2-6 (H2-H6) – Subheadings to organize content.
  • Paragraph (P) – Regular body text.

To change the HTML tag:

  1. Select the text element.
  2. Open Settings in the toolbar.
  3. Choose the appropriate tag (H1, H2, P, etc.).

7. Making Sure Text is Responsive

  • Always check how text looks on tablet and mobile.
  • Use Global Styling to keep fonts consistent across devices.
  • Adjust font sizes and alignment for mobile readability.

8. Why Use the Text Element?

Flexible – Works for headings, paragraphs, and lists.

SEO-Friendly – Helps structure content with HTML tags.
