How to Use Global Blocks in Your Website

Global blocks allow you to reuse content across multiple pages while keeping them synchronized. When you edit a global block, the changes are automatically reflected everywhere it is used. This is useful for sections like contact forms, testimonials, promotions, headers, and footers.

1. Creating a Global Block

  1. Select the block you want to make global.
  2. Open the Block Settings on the left panel.
  3. Click Make It Global.
  4. A globe icon will appear in the block’s settings, indicating it is now a global block.

Once created, the global block can be found in the Block Manager under Global Blocks.

2. Assigning a Global Block to Multiple Pages

By default, a global block is applied only to the page where it was created. To add it to more pages:

  1. Open the Block Settings.
  2. Click Display Conditions.
  3. Choose where the block should appear:
  • Include Specific Pages – Select the pages where the block should be displayed.
  • Include All Pages – Apply it across the entire site.
  • Exclude Specific Pages – Select pages where the block should NOT appear.

Click Save, and the global block will now appear on the selected pages.

3. Editing a Global Block

  • Any changes made to a global block will automatically update everywhere it is used.
  • Example: Changing the background color of a contact form global block will apply the change to every page where that block is used.

4. Removing a Block from Global Sync

If you want to modify a global block on a specific page without affecting the others:

  1. Open the Block Settings.
  2. Toggle Make It Global OFF.
  3. The block will now act as a normal block, separate from the global version.

Note: Once a block is removed from global sync, it cannot be reconnected.

5. Using Global Blocks for Headers and Footers

Global blocks are particularly useful for headers and footers:

  • Headers: Assign different headers to different sections of your site (e.g., a unique header for a landing page).
  • Footers: Ensure a consistent footer across all pages by making it a global block.

6. Deleting a Global Block

To completely remove a global block from your website:

  1. Open the Block Manager.
  2. Select Global Blocks.
  3. Locate the block and delete it.

Note: Deleting a global block from a page does not remove it from the Block Manager. You must delete it from the Global Blocks list to remove it completely.

7. Difference Between Saved Blocks and Global Blocks

  • Saved Blocks: Templates saved for later use. They do not sync across pages.
  • Global Blocks: Synchronized blocks that update across all instances when edited.

When to Use Each?

  • Use Saved Blocks for layouts you want to reuse but modify individually (e.g., a gallery with different images on each page).
  • Use Global Blocks for content that must remain identical across multiple pages (e.g., testimonials, discount offers, or a recurring contact section).

By using global blocks, you can save time, ensure design consistency, and manage repeated content efficiently across your entire website.
