How to Use Global Popups and Triggers in Your Website

Global popups and triggers help engage visitors, capture leads, and highlight important messages at the right moment. By setting automatic triggers and display conditions, you can control when and where popups appear across your site.

1. Creating a Global Popup

  1. Open the CMS Dashboard.
  2. Click on Popups & Alerts in the sidebar.
  3. Click Add New Popup.
  4. Enter a title for your popup.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Your new popup will now appear in the list. A yellow dot indicates it is still in draft mode and not yet published.

2. Editing and Customizing the Popup

  1. Click Edit to open the Popup Builder.
  2. Choose between:
  • Creating a new popup from scratch.
  • Using a pre-made popup template (e.g., Sale, Sign-up Form, Notification).
  1. Customize the text, images, and layout to match your needs.
  2. Save your changes before exiting.

3. Setting Popup Triggers

Triggers determine when a popup appears.

  1. Open Popup Settings (top-right corner).
  2. Click Display Conditions.
  3. Choose a trigger from the following options:

Available Popup Triggers

  • On Page Load – Appears after a set time (e.g., 1 second).
  • On Click – Appears when a visitor clicks a specific element.
  • After Inactivity – Shows after a user is inactive for a set time.
  • On Page Exit Intent – Appears when the user moves the cursor toward closing the tab.
  • On Scroll – Triggers when the visitor scrolls a certain percentage of the page.

Example:

  • Set the popup to trigger at 60% scroll, so it appears when the visitor scrolls halfway down the page.

4. Combining Multiple Triggers

You can stack triggers together. For example:

  • On Scroll (60%) + Exit Intent – Ensures the popup appears either when the user scrolls down or tries to leave.

5. Controlling How Often the Popup Appears

  • Trigger Only Once – By default, the popup will appear every time the trigger is met.
  • To avoid annoying users, activate "Trigger Only Once" after testing.
  • If you want repeated popups, leave this setting off.

6. Setting Display Conditions (Where the Popup Appears)

By default, popups appear on all pages, but you can refine this:

  1. In Display Conditions, select where the popup should appear.
  2. Options include:
  • All Pages – Display site-wide.
  • Specific Pages – Show only on selected pages (e.g., homepage, landing page).
  • Exclude Certain Pages – Prevent the popup from appearing on specific pages.
  • System Pages – Apply to maintenance or coming soon pages.

Example:

  • Display a discount popup only on the checkout page.
  • Exclude a newsletter popup from the contact page.

7. Publishing and Previewing the Popup

  1. Save the changes.
  2. Change the status from Draft to Published.
  3. Click Preview to test the popup on your site.

8. Why Use Global Popups?

Boost Engagement – Capture attention at the right moment.

Increase Conversions – Encourage sign-ups, purchases, or downloads.

Reduce Bounce Rates – Offer last-minute deals before users exit.

Customize Display – Control where and when popups appear.

With global popups and triggers, you can create a highly interactive and user-friendly experience while maximizing conversions on your website.
